The best way to begin planning a visit is to tell us what you are interested in — which sites, what period of Egyptian history draws you, how many people in your group, and your approximate travel dates. We will prepare a detailed proposal and confirm guide and access availability.
We respond to all enquiries within two working days. For urgent requests or multi-day itinerary discussions, telephone contact is welcomed during office hours.
Our most useful enquiries include: preferred travel dates or a date range, the number of people in your group, specific sites or periods you are keen to explore, your language preference for the guide, and any accessibility requirements. Knowing these details upfront allows us to skip several rounds of back-and-forth and get a concrete proposal to you faster.
After receiving your form submission, a member of our team will review your request and match it against current guide availability and site permit schedules. You will receive a response by email within two working days. For multi-day itinerary proposals, our initial response will outline a draft programme; we then schedule a 20-minute call to discuss preferences before finalising the plan. Nothing is confirmed or charged until you explicitly accept a proposal.
If you have an urgent request — travel beginning within five days, for example — please call our office directly. We can often accommodate last-minute bookings for popular sites, particularly mid-week.
The most common question we receive before people enquire is whether they need to know anything about Egyptology in advance. The answer is no — our guides calibrate to the group. A second common question is whether we can accommodate very small groups of one or two people. Yes: we run both private single-group bookings and occasional shared-group slots for our most popular programmes. A third is whether we can be hired for photographic or documentary purposes — yes, we work with professional photographers and documentary producers on request; please note this in your message.
When your form submission arrives, a member of our team reads it in full and identifies the most appropriate guide to handle the enquiry. For multi-day programmes, this is usually one of our senior staff; for single-day programmes, we match the enquiry to the guide most familiar with the relevant sites and fluent in your preferred language. We aim to respond within two working days but during peak season (October–March) the typical response time is one working day.
Our first response will be substantive — not an automated acknowledgement. We will address your specific request, confirm current guide availability for your dates, and outline one or more programme options. If your enquiry is for a date where our usual guide is unavailable, we will offer an alternative date or an alternative qualified guide and explain the difference in their specific expertise.
We keep enquiries open and active for six weeks. If you have submitted an enquiry and not received a response within two working days, please telephone us directly — spam filters occasionally intercept our emails. We never ignore an enquiry and always follow up.
